BOBCAT DIGITAL’S NEW TECH HAS LEFT A MARK ON THE INDUSTRY

Large format printers Bobcat Digital has invested in brand new equipment which has increased production output by 40 per cent. The new Ricoh C7200x digital

press, with its photo re-production and sharp text quality, allows the Broughton firm to be competitive with the biggest machines on the market. The machine has two main

features that separate it from other digital printing presses. Firstly, the banner output tray

allows the machine to produce A4 6pp & A4 landscape brochures digitally. These are traditionally expensive to produce as they have to be done on larger more costly machines. It also uses white and clear ink

giving the machine a unique selling point as these cannot usually be produced digitally. This means items such as spot UV can be produced cost effectively for the first time. The spot UV in particular allows Bobcat to print high end brochure work within extremely tight timescales. Bobcat Digital partner Robert

Blackburn said: “We were able to invest in the machine thanks to a continual growth of business within the Milton Keynes area and re-

securing a current contract with a large investment bank in London. “The new machine will allow us to employ another member of staff

due to increased output. It has created a position for another apprentice which we will be looking to employ later this year.”
