TALKING BUSINESS
A SPACE FOR THE BUSINESS COMMUNITY
Your Office Space knows exactly how to service small businesses or start-ups, because that’s just what they are too. Euro Property Investments purchased Gloucester House three years ago and formed Your Office Space as a new serviced office company to manage the premises. The newly refurbished building was officially re-launched in May this year. The refurbishment has created a high-
tech but informal, flexible working environment including meeting rooms and pods, media units, hot desks, state- of-the-art cashless self-service café and all the latest technology to enable clients to work comfortably and effectively within it. General manager Jenny Woolford said:
“In one sense, we are actually a start-up ourselves. We’ve had all the challenges you would face in starting up a new business – finances, cash flow etc. so we understand exactly what our clients are going through as we’ve been on the same journey. To come out of the end of the first year with a vibrant, viable business is an achievement we’re very proud of.” Jenny added: “When we set up the
business, we looked at the competition and decided a lot of it was bland and corporate. We didn’t want to be sterile or the same as the next operator; we wanted to be local and relevant to the business community we serve.” For that reason, Jenny carefully chose
good, knowledgeable, local staff when building her team. All employees are customer focused
and understand the needs of companies within the building and what they require from Your Office Space to help them be successful. “People think a serviced office is
about the building but actually it’s about the clients and the diversity of the community,” said Jenny. “The most important thing that we are doing is building a community for all stages of the company lifecycle from entrepreneurs to established businesses. We want to provide an environment in which they can all flourish and do well.” Your Office Space provides a flexible
working platform which enhances productivity and business development. At its core is the iLounge; a multipurpose workspace - a vibrant open plan area designed to promote creativity and collaboration.
22 inbusiness OCTOBER/NOVEMBER 2019 Plans are also afoot in phase two of
the business’s development for a further dedicated training facility and improved meeting rooms. However, Your Office Space is not just
open to in-house office clients. External customers can benefit from use of the iLounge with two levels of membership – Drop In Member on a pay as you go basis or All in One for businesses who need more regular business support and a registered address. “The idea of having a virtual office is
becoming dated,” said Jenny. “We are very mindful of the next generation of workers, the new breed of entrepreneur and what they need to develop their business and we want to help them do that. “Office space is fast becoming a
service and the new grade of business centre is centred around the customer and what they need. The difference with us is that we really are listening and we want to deliver what people want. “We are striving to innovate and to
provide an excellent service to all the businesses we serve. We are committed to retain and grow their business with us in an extremely competitive environment,” added Jenny, who worked for the previous operator before the building became Your Office Space. “One of my proudest achievements is that we managed to keep most of the existing client base when Your Office Space took over management of the building. Since then we have continued to retain our existing business as well as attracting new businesses, so we must be doing something right.” Your Office Space is also collaborating
with local business partners to improve their visibility and footprint on the city. Jenny said: “Milton Keynes is the
closest and fastest growing city north of London that has the right target market for a serviced office. We want to be a key player in the MK business community so we are in people’s minds. “Our business plan is to be completely
engaged with MK, our business partners and customers. Together we are stronger – that’s one of the reasons why we joined the Chamber.”
