EXPERTS GIVE SCHOOLS A VIRTUAL REALITY LESSON


PCS Business Systems has been involved in demonstrating industry leading virtual reality equipment to schools and educational establishments in the UK.


Chris McQuade, operations manager at PCS, has


been supporting the project since the start. Chris said: “I believe this way of learning is a game-


changer. Teaching is no longer two-dimensional and VR equipment is allowing schools to access new boundaries which in turn benefits both teachers and students. One of the biggest issues teachers face is student engagement – introducing VR to education allows schools to grip imagination and stimulate students’ thoughts.” The VR technology allows students to visit


places beyond the average school trip. Pupils can explore the International Space Station, go on an African Safari and undergo other remarkable experiences all from the comfort of the classroom. VR for education makes learning more fun


and interactive while assisting teachers in bridging the learning gap. It is a well-known fact that we learn best by ‘doing’ and VR gives students the opportunity to learn and discover things themselves. The main aim of the project is to not only demonstrate this ground-breaking technology to schools, but to also increase knowledge retention for students of all ages. PCS is offering the VR headsets which come fully supported, classroom ready and preconfigured with Google Expedition.

TESSA SURVEYS HER NEW ROLE


Tessa Smith has joined Robinson & Hall, Land and Property Professionals, as commercial property surveyor. After graduating from


Harper Adams University with a BSc (Hons) in Rural Enterprise and Land Management, Tessa worked for a national telecoms company as a graduate commercial property surveyor where she became a chartered surveyor. She then spent 18 months working for a commercial surveying firm in London. Determined to grow and


develop her knowledge of the property industry, she decided to join Robinson & Hall as the firm deals with a variety of property types including residential, commercial and rural. Tessa works across all


commercial fields but is currently focusing on property management, lettings and disposals.
