YOUNGSTERS’ CHARITY IS STILL GROWING STRONG

A charity that has been changing young lives in Northampton for decades is celebrating its 30th anniversary year by expanding services. The Lowdown supports young people dealing with a

range of issues, including anxiety, depression, self-harm and suicidal thoughts and feelings. During 2017-18 it delivered 2,189 individual

counselling sessions – up 24% on the previous year – and in 2019 it will be adding a wellbeing service to support young people while they are waiting for counselling, as well as those who would benefit from an emotional wellbeing intervention. Fundraising and marketing manager Ellie White said:

“Over the years we have adapted to young people’s needs, providing free and confidential counselling and sexual health services. We also provide LGBTQ youth groups. “We saw demand for our

services rise by nearly a quarter in 2017-18 during our 30th year we want to expand our services and reduce waiting times for young people. We would love to hear from any organisations that would like to support this project through fundraising or by choosing us as their charity of the year.”

TELECOMS FIRM RINGS CHANGES

BTT have a long history in Telecommunications, spanning over 20 years. Robert Bright took over the

business from his father; Peter in 2006. Less than a year later, Robert joined forces with Shiv Passap to offer the network services (Broadband, Mobile etc) to their clients. Since that partnership, BTT

have been known by many names; BTT Comms, BTT Networks and more recently, BTT Voice and Data. In 2018, a decision was

NEARLY A QUARTER IN 2017-18’

made for the business to go through a rebrand process to simplify their image. With effect from the end of January 2019; they have been known as simply BTT. After several logo concepts,

Ellie White PARTNERSHIP LABELLED A SUCCESS

When Piroto Labelling managing director Leigh Mann met fellow Chamber members PALLITE® – The Alternative Pallet Company – he knew there was a connection beyond PALLITE® just needing some labels. Both companies take an

innovative approach to business and there was clearly an opportunity to co-design the perfect label for PALLITE’s® light weight, paper pallets. Kris Lines, Piroto area sales manager, visited PALLITE’s® operation to see exactly how the pallets were being manufactured and labelled. He said: “I could immediately see

how we could help them by reducing the size of the label rolls, making them more manageable.”

a simplified version of their existing logo was chosen, Alongside the new logo, a portfolio of icons were designed for each of their services; AV, Mobile, Connectivity (covering Broadband, Cabling, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, WAN), Unified Communications and Collaboration, Phone Systems, Phone Lines, Security, Energy and Support. In light of the logo rebrand,

BTT also needed to get their website redesigned. The new website is very modern, simplistic and easy-to- navigate. Marketing manager Heather

Northampton-based Piroto Labelling manufactures customised labels and tags for use across multiple industry sectors. Kris added: “By discussing

exactly what PALLITE® needed from their labels we were able to develop a bespoke label that fits a small recess in each pallet exactly,

matched their branding perfectly and displayed their all-important recycling credentials. “You might think that very little

thought is needed to develop a humble label, but I can assure you that isn’t the case!”

Selbie said: “We are so pleased with the rebrand but we appreciate that it’s not just our opinion that matters so we would really appreciate it if our fellow Chamber members would take a look and send me their feedback – good or constructive, to me.”
