SUMMER CAMP

Out of this World Camp Ages 8-12

RS

With Red Oak as our home base, campers will explore the habitats during that magical hour when the sun sets and the moon rises! Who comes out to visit, what sounds will be heard? We will explore through hiking, telling campfire stories, looking at the constellations and maybe roasting a marshmallow or two. All registrants will receive one Red Oak flashlight to keep. Camp registration closes the Thursday before camp starts.

Head out in our mean green traveling machine and explore some amazing areas in and around Illinois! Each day will be filled with adventures to a new destination so we can explore, investigate, play and have fun. The week ends in a campout at a state park where campers will put up their tents, cook dinner, roast marshmallows and more! Previous year’s activities have included hiking, creek walking, beach days, canoeing, cave exploration, dune hiking, museum visits and more! A more detailed schedule of activities will be sent out in with camp forms. Our schedule is subject to change as most are weather dependent but camp will meet regardless. Fee includes transportation, admission fees, campout materials and a camp T-shirt.

Survival Series Ages 10-13

RS

Brush up on your survival skills with our Review camp and follow it up by testing those skills in our Challenge camp. The first session will review many of the basic skills including shelter building, way finding, fire building and more. Challenge week will have campers traveling offsite to different forest preserves and given challenges to complete for survival rewards and will end with a Survival Challenge campout at Red Oak. Campers do not have to attend Review week in order to attend Challenge week, but themes and activities will be accelerated to accommodate those that have. Please note the camp schedule varies each week of survival week; more detailed information will be sent out with other camp forms prior to the start of each week. Camp registration closes the Thursday before camp starts.
