Join The Lottery Helping Dorset Families

Join the Julia’s House lottery and help throw a lifeline to Dorset families.

Julia’s House, the Dorset and Wiltshire children’s hospice charity is a lifeline for parents facing the devastating reality that their child may not live into adulthood. The charity is dedicated to helping life- limited or life-threatened children and their families. Each family supported is unique and so is the care provided.

This local charity doesn’t just care for fragile children, it supports their families too – mums, dads, siblings and grandparents – because when there is a sick child in the family it impacts on everyone.

Julia’s House nurses and carers help break the cycle of exhaustion and isolation, offering regular, frequent care in its hospices, in the community and in family homes across the counties.

With the support of people like you, Julia’s House has been able to bring joy into the lives of local children like Hunter and Darcie, a brother and sister with the same life-threatening condition. Mum Lydia tells their story:

“Darcie has vocal cord paralysis and has a tracheotomy – a tube through her neck into her

throat – to keep her airways open. When Hunter was born we were devastated.

Straight away it was obvious that he had the same condition. I was terrified about how I was going to cope with two poorly children to look after. Thankfully the Julia’s House team are caring, reassuring and supportive. They make you feel great about yourself and proud of how you are coping.”

Many people don’t realise that Julia’s House relies on public donations and fundraising for 95 per cent of the funds it needs each year. Without the support of the local community, there would be no Julia’s House.

Time is limited for the children in our care. By playing the Julia’s House lottery, you can help families make the most of their precious time; creating lasting memories that they will always treasure.

Our lottery is one of the simplest ways you can support local families – and it costs just £1 a week.

It is easy to join, simply sign-up online at www. juliashouse.org/lottery or phone on 01202 644220.
