BUS SERVICES: Following recent national news regarding a gap in funding from central government to local government towards bus funding, Cllr Paul Harrison is able to report that the Managing Director of Morebus, Andrew Wickham, has committed to a meeting with him, to discuss the situation. “I’m very keen that residents get the facts and I will report further, following my meeting with Mr Wickham,” said Cllr Harrison.
CORFE MULLEN GUIDES: Cllr Sarah Burns felt privileged to visit some of the Corfe Mullen Guides recently, where she ran Dementia Friends’ information sessions. “The girls are
a real example of future leadership and were so keen to learn”, commented Cllr Burns. Both Cllr Burns and Cllr Harrison were delighted to attend the Guides’ Thinking Day on Sunday 24th February, at the Guide Hut at our recreation ground.
HOLOCAUST MEMORIAL SERVICE: Cllr Paul Harrison & Cllr Sarah Burns attended the Holocaust Memorial Service at Wimborne Minster, where Cllr Harrison had been
invited to light one of the six memorial candles, following his recent trip to Auschwitz, where he laid a wreath on behalf of the District Council. Holocaust survivors, Erica Pean and John Fieldsend, spoke to a very well attended Minster, recounting heartbreaking personal stories. “It was an honour to meet Erica and John after the Service and hear of the work they do to educate future generations,” reported Cllr Harrison.
