CORFE HILLS STUDENTS TO ADD KEY BUSINESS SKILLS TO TOP GCSE RESULTS
After achieving the best GCSE results for Maths and English in Poole (non-selective schools), Corfe Hills has launched ‘The Edge’ – a nationally accredited programme to build the key life and leadership skills valued by business.
At Corfe Hills we are passionate about excellence in learning and this extends beyond academic skills. We know that our students’ future employers will be looking for more than simply great academic results.
Now, through our membership of PiXL (Partners in Excellence), we have this month launched a programme with our Year 9 students called ‘The
Over the course of the qualifi cation, students will plan, complete and evaluate activities for each of the fi ve key attributes, creating their own personalised programme.
Thanks to the online PiXL Edge database, students have access to over 1,800 different activities, as well as the option to create something totally new themselves. The activities are varied and can be undertaken in normal lessons, in extra-curricular clubs or outside of school, giving all our students the ability to qualify. The planning for the programme and the activities will take place during our tutor time programme, so the students have the support they need.
