Welcome to the March issue


Congratulations to Corfe Mullen Dementia Friendly Community and the Growing Compassionate Communities charity, which celebrate their fifth and first anniversaries this spring. In times of increasing isolation and loneliness, it is great to hear about the activities of this important local initiative (see page 16).


Our columnists provide us with a lot of useful local information this month...


> The team running the Corfe Mullen Carnival updates us on its plans for some spectacular displays this year (pg6).


> Hillside Vets (pg21) encourages us to make sure our pets are getting enough exercise to avoid health risks from carrying too much extra weight.


> Scott from Symes Wealth Management explains the importance of planning for retirement (pg38).


> It is the last we will hear from our local councillors for a couple of months (pages 10 & 12) as they start campaigning for local elections and enter a period of purdah. When we welcome our new councillors in our June issue, they will be representing the new council structure, so things are certainly changing this spring.


> Please continue to support Ideas2Action (Win On Waste) and the Dorset Waste Partnership (pg8 & 18). It is good that we can find ways to reuse some of our waste and avoid using the energy it takes to recycle it.


As always, there is plenty going on – the Clubs & Groups section (pg54-57) are packed with ideas, as are the What’s On pages (58-59) – so I hope you have a great month.
