TWO van drivers have been ar- rested after a head-on car smash caused the closure of the M20 on November 10. The collision happened on the


slip road at J5 (Aylesford) of the coastbound carriageway at about 5am. Fire crews freed two people. The crashhappenedas one of the


vehicles travelled the wrong way down the slip road. Kent Police said: “Two people


were arrestedbyofficers investigat- ingthe collision.A24-year-oldman was arrested on suspicion of caus- ing serious injury by dangerous driving and a 35-year-old man on suspicion of dangerous driving.”

A HOSPITAL trust plunged into crisis over a £23milliondeficit two years ago has been removed from specialmeasures. In August 2016, Maidstone and


Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust was put into the crisis category amid concerns over the funding gap for 2016 and 2017. The trust’s shortfall has since
