TRAIN AND BUS USERS TO MEET IN HALESWORTH

on Saturday 6th october the east Suffolk Travellers' Association will hold its autumn public meeting in the URC Church, Quay Street, Halesworth, starting at 2pm. Guest speaker will be Mr Alan

neville, Customer engagement Manager of the train operator Greater Anglia. He will speak about the company's present services and its future plans - especially as the first of its new bi-mode trains being built in Switzerland is due to be delivered before the end of this year. These trains will be tested and are due to replace the existing diesel trains on the Ipswich - Lowestoft line when a new timetable is introduced in December 2019. The new trains can operate as diesels on branch lines and as electrics on the main line. Mr neville is also closely involved in station facilities in east Anglia, and the work of station adopters, and will also speak about this aspect of the train operating company's work. This includes the roll- out of more ticket vending

"Halesworth rail station is a gateway to the attractive Blyth Valley, which once had a navigable waterway and a narrow-gauge railway. The town itself is well worth a visit, and buses from the rail station take visitors to attractive and interesting villages and pubs on the way to Southwold. Good train and bus services are therefore not only of importance to local people, but also to tourists visiting the area."

employ two of Britain’s best technicians. For the second consecutive year, the Suffolk based dealership entered Lee Cayley and Aaron Fenn into Isuzu’s world Technician competition. To qualify, they had to pass a written examination. Having qualified for the

British finals, they were both shortlisted amongst the top Isuzu technicians in the country. The finals took place in July, where both Lee and Aaron competed at the IM Group headquarters in west Bromwich. what followed included an intense day of practical and written examinations starting at 8am in the morning finishing 4pm in the afternoon. Throughout the day, they were examined on both electrical and mechanical faults. every assessment was analysed by two examiners and a photographer. one of the practical exams included
