HOUSES OF PARLIAMENT UNVEILS ITS NEW BLINDS

A blind manufacturer with more than 50 years’ experience has fitted a prototype of a new solar powered motorised blind at the Parliamentary Estate. Herdman Blinds has a number of high profile clients, including major

retailers and the NHS - and it has been serving the Houses of Parliament for approximately 25 years. Its new, eco-friendly solar powered blind has the look and style of a fully motorised blind for about half the cost. Director Karen Tyrrell said: “We’ve been working for the Houses of

Parliament for a long time because we are one of the few companies that do the traditional cap and rack blinds for its historic buildings. We suggested they tried solar powered motorised blinds because the blinds needed to go inside glazing, and the feedback has been positive.

“We’re very excited about these blinds because they could be incredibly

attractive to a range of businesses that want fully motorised blinds but don’t want the cost of running them or the upheaval of having electricians in to install new electrics and wiring to operate them. “They run on normal batteries and tests have shown that the batteries

last a long time before they need replacing. An added bonus is that they come in a wide range of styles.” Herdman Blinds is currently offering members of Northamptonshire Chamber a 10% discount off its blinds and curtains, and a 15% discount off its solar blinds when members mention this article.
