A’level and BTEC students Visit by Mike Tindall

In March, the PE department were privileged to welcome former Gloucester RFC and England World Cup winning centre Mike Tindall to the school. In the Leaders and Rugby assembly Mike awarded our 5th and 6th generation Sports Leaders from Year 9 with their certificates and Leaders t-shirts, presented by School Sports Coordinator Mrs Long. We also celebrated the successes of our

rugby teams during the 2015-16 school year. Mike also answered questions from some of our students and gave some wonderful responses, including some brilliant stories about Martin Johnson, Sir Clive Woodward and even Jason Leonard!

Our Sixth Form A level and BTEC Sport students then spent time with Mike in our PE classroom for a Q&A session,

The Corsham School (TCS) Athletics club

The Athletics club runs weekly at The Corsham School, with all members of the PE department present and it is open to all year groups. Students are invited to attend, ideally with friends to develop components of fitness, meet new people, and practice for Athletics Championships at the school and in the North Wiltshire cluster and to maintain a healthy active lifestyles.

We are delighted to have well over 100 of our students attending every week; striving to improve their technique and obtain personal bests. Subsequently Jade Littlechild, Otto Copping (1500m), Will Andrews (200m) and Chris Blazey (Shot) will be represent TCS and North Wilts at the Wiltshire County Champs in Salisbury in June.
