Equestrian team ride out at Hickstead


Sibford’s Equestrian team had the fantastic opportunity of competing at Hickstead in May. The team, who have enjoyed


considerable success this season, qualified for the NSEA Eventer’s Challenge Championships which took place over the bank holiday weekend.


Aquathlon achievers


In June Sibford was proud to host the North Oxfordshire School Sport Partnership Senior Aquathlon finals. The event saw Year 7 swimming six lengths of the pool and running one lap of the field, while the Year 8 and 9 teams swam eight lengths of the pool and ran two laps of the field. Our own teams were


competing against teams from Blessed George Napier, The Cooper School and Gosford Hill, and we were delighted that our Year 7 and 8 teams came home in first place while our Year 9 team came a very close 2nd place, narrowly beaten by Gosford Hill School.

The three-day event was an amazing experience for our pupils and they should be very proud of their achievements. We now look forward to next season. • The team were back in the saddle for the School’s annual Open Day, when, much to the delight of visitors, they gave a demonstration of their riding skills on the playing fields.
