Ocean City, MD
"We have a beautiful new Performing Arts Center with state-of-the-art sound system. Our Ballroom offers a floor-to- ceiling, panoramic view of the bay and sunset. Maryland is a ‘right to work’ state, and we have over 1,200 free parking spaces," Regina S. Brittingham,, regional sales manager for the Roland E. Powell Convention Center in Ocean City, says extolling some of the center’s many note- worthy virtues.
The convention center offers two exhibit halls that open as 45,500-square feet of column-free space with 30-foot high ceil- ings, plus complimentary set-up, which includes pipe and drape for booths. Banquet-style, classroom-style or theater- style setups can be arranged.
In late spring of 2020, the center will add 30,000-square feet of exhibit space that will be adjacent to the existing 45,500- square foot space, as well as two larger breakout rooms and additional rest- rooms on both of its levels.
"We frequently have conventions accom- panied by trade shows and workshops or meetings, as well as large dance and cheer competitions, concerts and sport- ing events,” explains Brittingham. “Our facility is very versatile and we can fre- quently and quickly ‘flip’ the entire build- ing. What makes it even more attractive is our 1,212-seat performing arts center, which is used by many of our clients for their general sessions.”
"We offer a list of preferred service providers and have an exclusive, award- winning in-house caterer, Centerplate, which is led by a very experienced and innovative GM and a chef who have a history with us of over 20 years... Our CVB, as well as our local Hotel, Motel and Restaurant Association, assists with all types of recommendations,” continues Brittingham.
