The Great Winthrop Gardens Bake Off
Every March, the volunteers at Rotherham Fundraising Group of Marie Curie look to add some extra sunshine into the world to mark the charity’s annual appeal.
This year, the group are partenering with Anna and the volunteers down at Winthrop Gardens to host a bake off competition to raise money and awareness for both Marie Curie and the gardens.
The perfect setting for all things daffodils, Winthrop Gardens at Wickersley is a blossoming community gardens with a quaint tea room on site. Here, the Rotherham Fundraising Group will be hosting their charity day on Saturday 24th March with Marie Curie products available to buy plus a tombola to enter.
Is your lemon drizzle cake up to scratch? Can your scones rise to the occasion? Then why not enter the Bake Off competition all in the name of a good cause. From scones and cupcakes to sponges and tray bakes,
whip up a delicious treat with prizes available for adults and children. All entries donated to the competition can also be tried and tasted by visitors for a donation to the causes.
Cakes can be dropped off at
Winthrop café on either Friday 23rd March between 12 pm and 6 pm or Saturday 24th between 8am and 9 am. The event will run 11am to 3pm so please come along and support both causes. The Marie Curie group organise charity events and collections to help the nurses caring for people with terminal illnesses while the volunteer-run Winthrop Gardens provides a therapeutic sensory gardens and a memory café for those living with dementia.
