REstaurants
(Cup $4.99, bowl $7.99) and half a panini. The panini she and I both had was the Meat- ball Panini with Shredded basil, tomatoes, mozzarella, garlic and olive oil. (Full $11.99, split in half for two). The Wedding Soup fea- tures orzo pasta, seasonal vegetables and greens, mini meatballs and chicken broth. I commented to my friend that it was
one of the tastiest meals I had enjoyed in quite a while, and I meant it! It really hit the spot.
My next goal is to have dinner at
Limoncello Larkin’s Italian Kitchen 401 River St, Greenville, SC 29601 (The corner of River and Broad)
When my friend who lives in the apart-
ments above Limoncello invited me to lunch on our first sunny day in ages in early Febru- ary, I didn’t know anything about the eating establishment. Well, I kind of had an idea, judging from the name, that it was Italian. Bingo.
My first impression was how beautiful
the place is inside and the friendliness of the staff. It was lunch time, so there weren’t nearly as many customers as the place gets at night.
The lunch menu was hard for me to
choose from. The listings alone had me sali- vating. Choose from an array of salads and appetizers, (or antipasti). There are various pizzas, pastas and soups. But it was the cate- gory “Panini” that hooked me. I had not en- joyed a good panini in many moons. I decided I would follow my friend’s lead, since she has eaten there a few times, being that it is right below her apartment. Convenient. She recommended the Wedding Soup
Limoncello. Of course it’s going to be difficult to choose between Fettuccine Alfredo, Lin- guine Pestcatore or good Italian spaghetti and meatballs. Maybe I’ll skip the pasta and in- stead choose Osso Bucco, Steak Tuscana or Salmon Piccata. Who knows? It all looks great!
With the massive growth of Greenville
over the past several years and the amazing number of new restaurants, there are many, many choices of where to dine. I will tell you, I seriously doubt that you will find a finer din- ing experience in town than Limoncello. Try it! As an added feature, they offer valet park- ing.
