be your "chicken shaker"

5. Dip each piece of chicken into the egg and milk mixture. I actually let mine sit in the mix for a couple of minutes, 3 or 4 pieces at a time. When the chicken is good and coated with the mix, place the chicken into your shaker bag, and shake the hell out of it!

6. Use medium heat and get that oil cooking.

7. Place the chicken into the HOT cooking oil. Cook the chicken thoroughly, keep checking

for that "golden-brown" color. Turn the pieces over to cook each side well.

Note: It might be a good idea to use a lid or splatter cover on your skillet. Again, make sure to cook your chicken thoroughly. With any luck, all will go well and you will

be dining soon on some of the fowlest food you ever put in your mouth. Bon Appetit !

DAVE’S DARN GOOD EATIN’ CORNBREAD --LIGHT & FLUFFY (LIKE DAVE!)

First, start with what I think is the best corn- bread mix on the market, which is Jiffy.

You'll need: - 4 boxes of Jiffy (40 cents a box I think) - 1 half gallon of milk - 4 eggs (1 egg per box of Jiffy) - 1 jar of mayonnaise - 1 large glass casserole dish, kinda deep

Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees. Depending on

how much you want to make, combine 1, 2, or more boxes of mix. The only difference in the way I prepare my recipe and their box direc- tions is the mayonnaise. For every box of mix used, add a couple of tablespoons of mayo. Combine all ingredients, then mix by hand or

by electric mixer, be sure to get all the lumps out. Grease the casserole dish and pour the

mixture in. Pop it into the oven for 25-30 minutes. Use a

toothpick to make sure that the center is done. Slice into squares, butter 'em up and get ready for some "darn good eatin"!

Dave Hlubek is a founding member and for- mer lead guitarist of Molly Hatchet, and cur- rent axe man with The Southern Rock Allstars. Check out the SRA’s new album, Danger Road while you serve the fam that chicken feast!

Update: Dave later re-joined Molly Hatchet, the band he founded, and remained there until his passing. Rest in peace, brother.

One of many jams with the mighty Southern Rock Allstars. Me and Dave and Jay were ripping with Jakson and Charles laying down the groove! Happy memories.
