Broadstone Football Club

Our Broadstone FC page will keep you updated on the teams’ progress, upcoming events and opportunities of how you can help!

TEAM FOCUS...

In this month’s edition of our page, we go from the youngest BFC team, to the oldest one!

Under 6s

September saw the return of many of last season’s under 5s to form the under 6s for this year. These players were boosted by a number of new faces who have all been regularly attending training on a Saturday morning. The focus of each session is on enjoyment and having fun, whilst learning about the game and developing skills at the same time. The players are also learning about teamwork whilst building lasting friendships, which will hopefully see this group of players stay together for many years to come.

During November, we entertained both Greenfi elds U6s and Poole Town U6s in matches across two consecutive weekends. This provided an

opportunity for all the players to experience playing in matches in a non-competitive,

friendly environment

to enhance their development. They all played well and the matches were enjoyed by both the players and the supporters watching.

The second half of the season will see further friendly matches against other local teams and the players will continue to develop their skills ahead of joining the Dorset Mini Soccer League for under 7s in September. Watch this space for the next Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo or Neymar!

Neil MANAGERS WANTED

Email: broadstonefc@gmail.com for details. FA Level 1 qualifi cation preferred. DBS check required.

Vs Greenfi elds U6s in November Men’s teams

The men’s fi rst team is enjoying its inaugural season in the Dorset Senior League, we have had a good start playing 7, winning 3, drawing 3 and losing only once (including a hard fought 3-2 victory over local rivals Corfe Mullen in the Blandford road Derby) – we currently sit 5th in the table with a game in hand. The squad includes many ex-Broadstone Youth players including some of last year’s u18s, who have all performed well, two of which are regular starters. Our reserve side, superbly marshalled by Wayne Hawes, has also benefi ted from the youth section with at least 50% of the match day squad coming via our younger ranks. They are currently 6th in Dorset Division Two, with two games in hand and a record of played 8, won 4, drawn 2 and lost 2.

Vs Poole Town U6s in November

We have had to make some improvements to the ground by means of dugouts and pitch barriers making match day preparations start at

about 11am, but it looks awesome after. One of our teams is normally at home on Saturday afternoons and kick off times are normally 2pm, come and support your local proper grassroots football club and enjoy a beverage from our tea bar. #upthestones.
