Local UK Ski Racing Champions! Championship; 3rd
Abigail and Daisy Putman have just fi nished an amazing year that has gone far past their parents’ expectations.
The girls train twice a week at Team Snowtrax in Bournemouth, where they have been members for the past four years. They are coached regularly by Darren and Helen Schmidt and also their idol Nicole Shering from Team Snowtrax.
Abigail has just completed an amazing season and has topped it off by being selected to join the English Ski School Association (ESSKIA) squad in Pila next year. Her achievements this season include: SASA Winter League U13 Champion; Snowsports South U12 Champion; London & South East U12 Champion; Irish U12 Champion; International U12 Champion; Vikings Club National U12 Champion; 2nd in the All England Championships. As well as collecting 9 gold, 7 silver and 4 bronze medals
Daisy has had a diffi cult year competing in the same category as her sister, but has still achieved some remarkable results – especially being one of the youngest racers in her category. She was 1st ERSA Club National at Brentwood; 2nd SASA Winter League U13, 2nd London & South East U12
Snowsports South U12 Championship, 3rd Irish U12 & 3rd International U12 Championship. She has also collected 2 gold, 6 silver and 6 bronze medals.
The girls attend Broadstone Middle School and last year they helped set up the Broadstone Middle School Ski Team along with Preston Crook (all pictured). They have gone from strength to strength, winning the ISA National Indoor Champs Junior Open Team, with Abigail being fastest junior racer. They also won the Southern Open Schools Race held at Southampton in July. Then in September they won the ESSKIA championship qualifi er at Southampton beating all other mixed teams in all age categories. Daisy and Preston have been picked for the ESSKIA Primary Squad and Abigail for the Junior Squad.
