Broadstone Neighbourhood Watch As we welcome 2018 you are probably all
considering your plans for the coming year and thinking about New Year’s resolutions.
We all tend to make ourselves huge promises, plan enormous changes to our lives and often fall at the fi rst hurdle, struggling to live up to our high expectations.
Why not change a small thing? Do you know your neighbours? Could you make someone’s day through a simple hello?
Statistics show that members of Neighbourhood Watch groups are less likely to suffer from crime or anti-social behaviour, and they also show that people are happier if they speak to people around them. You can help us build a stronger, safer and happier community by joining the 3,400 other members of Broadstone Neighbourhood Watch, or volunteering your time to become a contact with our organisation.
Contacts are the key to our success – regular members who deliver just 15-20 leafl ets to their neighbours once a month, where possible saying hello while delivering the leafl et and
being a friendly face in the street. There are a number of roads
in Broadstone where our contact is unable to continue, and if you can spare just 15 minutes once a month I would love to hear from you.
2017 has been another low crime year for our community, with anti-social behaviour also blighting fewer lives. We are blessed with a committed Police community support offi cer who is always available to support us and a strong, vigilant community. Please continue to use 101 or the Police website to report any crimes or anti- social behaviour so we can make sure that we can keep each other safe.
