A Broadstone project to support those with memory loss and their carers


Our regular events will continue throughout 2018:


• Drop in for tea and activities, every second Friday in the month, 12th January, 9th February, etc. Broadstone Methodist Church Coffee Lounge, 2.15pm to 4pm.


• Advice Surgery, every third Thursday in the month, 18th January, 15th February, etc, at Broadstone Library, 10am to 12noon.


• Reading and Listening Group, every Monday morning. Broadstone Library, 11am to 12noon.


All are welcome to join any of the above activities, which are tailored to give support to carers and people with memory loss and also to provide companionship and plenty of laughter.


In order for Broadstone to become a Dementia Friendly Community we need more businesses and organisations/clubs to complete a very simple process to become dementia friendly. If you would like to join Broadstone Post Office, Broadstone Library, Broadstone Bowls Club and others with this designation, please do make contact.


With greater understanding we CAN support people in the early stages of dementia within our community, so that they can continue to go shopping, visit the library, attend clubs, and much more. The Home Safely Scheme, which is available for Broadstone residents, makes it possible for carers to be contacted quickly should anybody become lost in a public space.
