Manufacturer’s turnover is trebled

A Hednesford-based manufacturer which is helping to keep Britain’s wheels turning has trebled its turnover in less than a decade. The company is Wheel Solutions Group, which

was founded in 1999, is a supplier of wheels, tyres, wheel assemblies, inner tubes and stub axles to the original equipment market. Its products are used in a number of sectors, including plant and construction, groundcare and agriculture. The company’s wheels and tyres can be found

on forklift trucks, caravans, park homes, and lawn and turf equipment. The company’s turnover now stands at £20m,

and operations are carried out at three sites, where 110 people are employed. Part of the company’s growth has been

achieved by acquisition, with two businesses being taken over, Chassis Solutions Ltd of Wellingborough, and Hull-based Gateway Chassis Ltd, both of which are steel fabricators. Wheel Solutions managing director Steve Budding said: “The group is now a £20m-plus turnover business, employing 110 people in three sites across the UK.

“Together with increased investment in people

and technology, the expansion is a clear indicator of our commitment to offering the industry’s highest levels of quality in products, manufacturing, service and innovation.” Chamber director Chris Plant said: “I

commend the organisation for its passion, innovation and commitment to the local area.

“They really are a hidden gem in the crown of

Cannock Chase. Such a high level of productivity, a constant desire to grow and improve and an outstanding senior management team all striving to get the right specification of wheel assemblies at the right time for the right price.

‘I commend the organisation for its passion, innovation and commitment to the local area’

“There is a real sense of pride about their

products and customer satisfaction. “I had never seen a such a vast stock of tyres;

their product portfolio includes a wide range of wheels and tyres appealing to numerous markets such as touring caravans, trailers, caravan holiday homes, park homes, lawn and turf equipment, professional ground care equipment and agricultural. “The quality of some of the tyres and alloys

destined for caravans actually put those on my own car to shame, such is the quality of product at WSL.”
