Quiz night raises
funds for charity Future Faces hosted its annual President’s quiz at Revolution bar to raise funds for chosen charity The Buddy Bag Foundation. The evening, run by Shake Entertainment, was enjoyed by more than 60 members and law firm Shoosmiths were the winners on the night. More than £1,200 was raised for The Buddy Bag
Foundation, which will help to make a difference to the lives of children in emergency care. Future Faces will be organising an additional
event in January which will have the aim of packing more than 180 Buddy Bags, which will be given to children across six women's refuge centres. Buddy Bag Foundation founder Karen
Williams said: “On behalf of the Buddy Bag Foundation, thank you Future Faces for your support at the recent quiz night. “A fun evening was had by all. The money
raised will supply 48 Buddy Bags to children who find themselves in emergency care after a traumatic incident. These bags help make a difference by ensuring a child has the essential items they need for their immediate wellbeing and comfort.”

Incoming president: Sian Averill
Outgoing president: Victoria Sears’
Sian is new Future Faces president
Sian Averill has taken over as the new president of Future Faces. Sian, who is fundraising manager at Heartlands Hospital Charity, replaces Victoria Sears. Sian has worked in the charity sector since
2013, having previously worked for Lloyds Bank. She started her career in fundraising at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and has recently been involved in the creation of a new charity involving this hospital, her current employer, and two others, Good Hope Hospital Charity and Solihull Hospital Charity and Heartlands Hospital Charity.
‘It’s been fantastic to get involved in a number of new initiatives for the group’
The aim of these charities is to support
patients and their families at the hospitals by raising funds to provide extra equipment, enhance facilities, fund research and provide added extras that are over and above what the NHS can provide. Sian said: “I’m really looking forward to my
term as president of Future Faces, especially in a time when Future Faces is going from strength to strength. “We have seen a membership growth of over
55 per cent in the last year so it is really important that we deliver a wide range of events that will benefit our members both professionally in their career development, and personally with our relaxed and informal networking events. “We are also excited to see new members from
all different sectors from across the region and we are looking forward to engaging with them and recognising the young talent from these sectors at the next annual dinner and awards”.
Outgoing president Victoria Sears said: “It has
been a pleasure and a privilege to lead Future Faces over the past year. With the unfaltering support of Anna Assinder and the dedicated Chamber team, Future Faces has continued to go from strength-to-strength, widening and deepening relationships with the Greater Birmingham business community and cementing itself as the leading network for young professionals.” Sian’s appointment was made official at
