is safety. “For us, it’s the human element,” said Kane. “Rigging and working in a construction or physical environment—there are physical dangers here. Literally life and limb dangers. If we can help people get home safe at night, that’s a pretty big motivator.” Ohman and Kane work with several channel partners, and the kits (as well as workshops) have been live for sale since late 2016—though they just started getting out and presenting at conferences, trade shows, and related events in 2017. “We’re raising awareness that these tools are out there;


they’re designed specifically for companies to use in- house, for training purposes,” said Kane. “We’re listening to what people have to say—gathering more feedback.” Beneath the productive banner of “effective training saves lives,” the benefits of a training program like

Kane noted that the terms “qualified rigger” and “certified rigger” have two different meanings—important distinctions. “Since the employer’s liability is tied to making sure that the rigger is qualified, we want to give folks the tools for running their own training,” he affirmed. “We provide curriculum, provide the physical tools, and then it’s in their hands. Tey can adjust and emphasize suitable to their specific needs—allowing them to reach that qualified status.


“Now, we have run specialized training in the past; it’s certainly something we’re capable of. But we want to give companies the tools to train. Tat’s what these kits are all about.”


At present, TactiLearning is busy at work expanding their product offering—which includes discussions for kits that break out of purely training and have more to do with product demonstration. “My hope for the future, outside of the success of the company, is that we’ll see hands-on training become more of the norm,” said Kane. “What I really like is we’re an education company. It might be cliché, but it’s incredibly gratifying to empower people by giving them the tools to succeed. And, of course, the whole point: training saves lives.” y
