International Trade
Business Hub New documentation courses
The Chamber’s documentation team is launching a number of courses to help exporters get to grips with the paperwork they will need to deal with when selling goods overseas. The courses are wide
ranging, and include ‘ITOPS’, which stands for International Trade (Operations) Award. This is aimed at administrators who work in busy export offices and are responsible for the shipping of a company’s products to an overseas destination. The course takes place over three months – the cost for Chamber members is £1,440, and for non-members it is £2,058. The other courses begin with an in-depth look
at Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) status. This is an internationally recognised quality mark indicating a company has a secure supply chain. The Chamber course – on 31 Jan, 24 Apr, 7 Jun and 15 Nov – will help understand what it needs to do to achieve and maintain this accreditation. The next course is on duty relief and will run on 28 February, 18 September and 11 December.
David Harris: On course
The subject of licencing will
be covered on 20 Mar, 23 May and 25 Oct. Delegates will learn also be
able to learn about all of the important documents used in international trade, in courses on 7 Mar, 20 Jun, 10 Oct and 5 Dec. Another key course is based
on letters of credit and courses will run on 11 April and 18 October. Finally, the Chamber will also be running the Introduction Course, which is a
brief introduction to the customs and logistics aspects of export. This will take place on 8 Feb and 4 Sept. David Harris, the Chamber’s documentation business manager, said: “In addition to our regular courses which have proved very popular over the years for 2018 we are adding some new courses that should be of interest to any exporter preparing for the changes that Brexit will bring particularly AEO.”
