Tips from the Common query from trade decorators:
With value for money on most people’s minds, the durability of the paint is often one of the most important things in specifying a job. What can you recommend?
As the weather closes in, the professional decorator’s thoughts often turn to finding products that definitely stay the course and make the best long- term impression on customers. But we know that choosing the most appropriate durable products for
particular jobs can be a bit of a minefield. For outdoor work, especially during the changeable weather, we tend to recommend the old favourite Sandtex Trade 365 All Weather Masonry Paint. Formulated for the professional user and based on high-performance
pliolite resin, this is shower resistant in 20 minutes. What makes it great is that it comes with a 15-year BBA certification to give customers real peace of mind. October sees many decorators begin to move to mostly indoor work,
and a new kid on the block worth checking out is the Macpherson Durable Acrylic Matt product.
This real value for money product features a water-based formulation
that is both stain and moisture resistant and offers a great finish for interior walls and ceilings. It can be applied by roller, brush or spray, is touch dry in two hours and ready for recoating after four hours. Of course, we recognise that decorators often have their own favourite
brand, but new products are really worth checking out, especially when they come with a strong history of reliability and quality, like Macpherson. We’re always happy to recommend the best paint for specific contracts,
and we pride ourselves on offering great customer service, so decorators can always call into their local store for a cuppa and a chat.
