NORTH EAST REGION Hello fellow Members
I’m writing this having just returned from a fantastic weekend at the Midlands and South West Regional Conference and AGM as guests of Ian and Jacqui Frost , the Regional President and his Lady. It was great to meet up with colleagues old and new. The AGM on the Saturday morning was followed by a very interesting presentation by
Ann Cook on new developments from the CITB. Coming up on 28 November is the Painting and Decorating Show at the Ricoh Arena,
Coventry. This is an excellent exhibition highlighting the latest products in this industry. The PDA is also going to hold the AGM on this date too at Double Tree by Hilton hotel which is part of the Arena, so this is an excellent opportunity for you to come along without taking extra time out of your very busy schedules. There are exciting developments ahead for the future of the PDA to
bring it more in line with the modern way of communicating, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc. The autumn is upon us and I hope you managed to get your exterior work done when we had the better weather in early summer. To all members in the North East Region if you have any queries
you would like raising please do not hesitate to contact me. Look forward to seeing you at the AGM in November.

SOUTH EAST REGION Dear fellow decorators and Members
I hope that your businesses are progressing well and your bank accounts are healthy. Firstly, a special thanks to all the Members in our Region who, over the past months took the
time out to contact me on a range of topics. I hope I satisfied you with my answers. One of the topics raised by some Members was having this year’s National Conference over the
Remembrance Weekend. I’ve spoken with our CEO and our National President on this matter in the hope that next year’s Conference won’t clash with Remembrance Weekend, which is commemorating the end of World War I. On a personal note my great, great uncle lost his life on the Somme in 1915 and before he joined up he was a Paperhanger by trade. On a lighter note, I’d like to take this opportunity in thanking Ian Frost, Midlands and South
West Regional President, for inviting me to their annual conference which was excellent. Our Regional Conference is being organised for next May. A further thanks goes to Chris Patmore, our Regional Secretary, for organising the venue for the
Estimating Training Day held on 23 September at Lopping Hall in Loughton. At the LAMD meeting on 11 September, Chris Patmore was voted in as the new President of the
LAMD - well done to Chris and I wish you all the best. Our next regional meeting is scheduled for mid October within the
GU postal area - we will let member firms know the details as soon as we finalise the date and venue. At the meeting we have scheduled a presentation all about Caparol Paints from Colin Bidwell of Paintshack and all members attending will get a discount code to use against the paints. I hope to see some of you at the Painting and Decorating
Show in Coventry in late November. All the best for the coming autumn projects, keep up the
standard and the good work, and keep the e-mails and calls coming in, this is your Association – I’m here to help. Vic Bellamy
