metal casting business since 1923 when Joseph H. Barron Sr. founded the Motor and Machinery Casting Company in Detroit and personally delivered parts to Henry Ford. In 1983, Joseph’s son Paul began operating Barroncast, Inc. in Oxford, Michigan which expanded into the current Barron Industries 65,000 square foot plant in 1990. Now in its 3rd generation of


management, Joseph’s grandson Bruce Barron is President and CEO. Bruce joined his father after graduating from The University of Notre Dame where he studied chemical engineering. “I was working for a Chicago-based


chemical company when Paul told me he had acquired the Oxford plant, so I quit my job and drove through the night to report for work at Barron in the morning,”

ith roots tracing back to the beginnings of the automotive industry, Barron Industries has


said Bruce. “I told him that nobody else would work harder or cheaper, so he hired me.” Bruce was part of the Barron Industries sales team for seven years before becoming General Manager in 1991. He assumed his current role as president in 2001 and was named CEO in 2007. As well as authoring several technical papers for the metal products industry, Bruce has served as chairman of the Investment Casting Division of the American Foundry Society.


Another family member on the


management team is Bruce’s brother Greg Barron who serves as Vice President of engineering and quality. A Notre Dame graduate, Greg earned a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering and went on to train at Hughes Satellite Systems for several years before joining Barron Industries in 1990.
