Jonathan Sutton Jonathan was born and bred in Stoke Fleming and has recently returned to Devon, after a 30 year absence, with his wife, Suzie, to run the family wine business, Michael Sutton’s Cellar, set up by his father. He has a dogged determination to make wine buying unintimidating for all.


Anna Turns Is a biologist turned journalist specialising in sustainability and food and curates the Festival’s Eat your Words event. She’s food editor for MANOR magazine and writes regularly for various other regional and national publications including Coast, Western Morning News’ West mag, The Food Assembly blog and The Food Rush.


Michael Wignall One of the most respected chefs in the UK, Michael Wignall has won Michelin stars in every kitchen he has headed since being awarded his first star in 1993. He is currently Executive Chef at Gidleigh Park in Devon.


Matt Tebbutt Matt completed a traineeship with Marco Pierre White, moved to the kitchens of Chez Bruce, then a stint at Clarke’s. Matt returned to Wales and transformed the former Foxhunter pub at Nantyderry, winning AA Restaurant of the Year for Wales in 2004.


Philip Watts Philip of Philip’s Food has lived and cooked in the South Hams since 1974. He was the founder of Dartmouth Smokehouse, Chairman of South Hams Food and Drink Association, a director of Taste of the West and Banqueting director of Powderham Castle.


Barry Young When Barry left school at 16, he went to sea to learn the trade on beam trawlers based out of Brixham harbour. In 2013, Barry became a director of Brixham Trawler Agents and since then he has strived to make it one of the best fishing ports in the UK. From April to October, he runs early morning tours of the fish market.
