oday’s community pharmacy is always focussed on improving the quality of its services to


patients. award-winning pharmacist, Eoghan o’brien, knows only too well how important it is to regularly revisit what his pharmacy has to offer in order to not only meet the health needs of his patients, but to ensure that his business remains commercially healthy.


over the last couple of years, Eoghan had become increasingly aware that he needed to once again


carry out a refit of the Portglenone- based pharmacy.


‘the refit was necessary for quite a few reasons,’ Eoghan told Pif. ‘for a start, and from a purely practical perspective, we had become increasingly aware that we needed to change the layout of the pharmacy to ensure optimal patient flow, optimal workflow and to maximise both space and efficiency.


‘Everyone was aware, for example, that the dispensary had become too


small to accommodate the increase in dispensing that every community pharmacy has experienced over the last few years. We therefore needed to reconfigure the layout to maximise space and efficiency and to create a more efficient dispensing service, which would be faster, easier and safer.
