ICAEW names new District President

Steven Mugglestone has been appointed as District President for the Leicestershire and Northamptonshire Region of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW). Steven is Associate Director at the Leicester office of Haines Watts, a

top 15 accountancy and business advisory firm with an office in Hamilton, Leicester. He has worked with the local ICAEW committee for a number of years and takes over from Steve Wheeler, International Technical Accounts Manager at Caterpillar UK, in Leicestershire.

‘We want to ensure that local issues and challenges are recognised and addressed’

Steven said: “The business world locally is

facing a significant time of change and upheaval and chartered accountants are playing a key part in their future direction and success. We want to ensure that local issues and challenges are recognised and addressed with our national body, which works closely with the UK Government. At the local level our aim for the coming year is to improve both communication and engagement between our members in the region and the ICAEW nationally.” Haines Watts Leicester Partner,

Sanjay Khullar, added: “We are delighted the ICAEW recognises the skills and qualities Steven will bring to the role. His experience will undoubtedly be valuable in these uncertain times.”

NLT Training Services welcomes Simon as Chief Executive

NLT Training Services, a training provider with offices in Chesterfield and Scunthorpe, has appointed Simon Marsden as Chief Executive. Simon has been involved with NLT

since 2014 as the Vice-Chairman of the training organisation's board. He has since resigned the position to take up the role of Chief Executive. Simon comes from a chemical engineering background and has had managing director roles at previous companies. He joins NLT at an exciting time

in the charity’s 40-year history. Most recently it has rebranded, launching a new website which boasts online booking for NLT’s health and safety courses.

Simon said: “The support,

training and mentoring I had in the early years of my career enabled me to become a managing director of a multi-million-pound company at the age of 29. Having been the beneficiary of training and support I have always wanted to give something back. Becoming a board member with NLT allowed me to do this, however, taking up the Chief Executive role is where I hope to make a significant difference both in the organisation and with our young people and employers. “I am hugely excited by the challenge ahead. Together, I know we can make NLT the go-to provider in north Derbyshire and Lincolnshire.”

Director at Roythornes, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Natasha and Laura to the Nottingham team. Throughout their training, they have demonstrated the utmost commitment to clients which is so important to who we are as a firm. I’m confident they will be a vital part of achieving our ambitious growth plans.”
