I believe in miracles. There’s a café here in South Yorkshire that’s dedicated to all things chocolate. Well, almost.
A chocoholic’s dream, the Hot Chocolate Lounge in Denaby combines the wonderful world of cocoa with community spirit, helping to sweeten the local area with training classes and workshops.
A tasty idea cooked up by Doncaster West Development Trust, the Hot Chocolate Lounge is a community hub improving the neighbourhood through free courses and qualifications to boost employability and up-skill the area.
Along with serving exceptional coffee and quality food, the Lounge also provides advice on CV writing and job interviews as well as social activities.
Funded by the Big Lottery, the Hot Chocolate Lounge benefits from help by volunteers and donations from local people and businesses such as fresh, allotment-grown produce to create their tasty soups or salads.
Now, it wouldn’t be the Hot Chocolate Lounge without the namesake drink. And these luxury hot chocolates are something special.
Made with real Belgian chocolate melted into foamed milk, taste a sip of pure indulgence along the chocolate spectrum with everything from creamy white to extra dark chocolate. Or try the white chocolate strawberry, peanut butter, or Turkish Delight.

If coffee is more your guilty pleasure, the smooth medium hand-roasted blend hails from Sheffield’s Frazer’s Coffee Roasters who also provide all barista training at the Lounge.

For those who love tea, try the unique Denaby Brew concocted by Doncaster’s The Tea Experience from three blends of loose leaf black tea. There’s even chocolate orange tea for something a little different.
With everything from tea cakes, bagels and crumpets to breakfast, brunch and hand-cut sandwiches, there’s also a cake bar plus chocolate dipping platters and nibble bowls to snack on.
Or for a truly luxury treat, try the Chocoholic’s Afternoon Tea with cakes and tartlets, plus a choc chip scone with praline chocolate ganache or their signature raspberry chocolate jam made specially by Lisa Jane’s Jams and chutneys.
