SUMMER FUN Surprises Summer Family fun at Wortley Hall

Live Theatre in the Gardens Wind in the Willows

Chapterhouse Theatre Company presents a wild woodland adventure in the open grounds and gardens

If you hop along down to

Wortley Hall this August, you and your little animal cubs may be in for a surprise or two as a host of forest friends are making their way from one Hall to another.

Aboard a cruising river boat, Mr

Toad Esq. of Toad Hall is cordially inviting his loyal associates Ratty, Mole and Badger to join him at Wortley in search of an adventure. Impulsive and intelligent with an insatiable need for speed, the tale of this loveable rogue is brought to you by Chapterhouse Theatre Company who are back with their open air performance for the second year. Bringing to life the magical story

by Kenneth Grahame, gather in awe as the gardens at Wortley Hall are transformed into the Wild Wood with traditional costume and musical arrangements.

After a quick spring clean, the curious Mole throws down his duster and joins river-loving Ratty the water vole and wise old Badger for a voyage to find the best picnic place along the river bed.

With a penchant for fashions and fads, the three meet up with tweed- wearing Toad, who owns half the village, in his horse-drawn caravan. Watch as he develops motor

mania and an obsession with

shiny new motorcars which almost becomes his demise; will they triumph over the sly and slippery weasels and stoats who have

barricaded themselves in Toad Hall? Animal friends of another kind, see donkeys, meerkats and birds of prey as the renowned South Yorkshire Festival arrives for another year.

Join Ratty, Mole, Badger and Mr Toad as they take you on a journey down the riverbank to memory lane with music, dancing and stunning costumes
