ummer is here and it’s a time for families to share what’s on our doorstep and make happy memories.
It’s been very positive to see the recent changes
at Wentworth Woodhouse and meet the influential behind people behind securing a great future for this South Yorkshire gem.
Similar investment has been made to their neighbours at Elsecar in the hope of combining the two villages’ linked heritage.
Whilst looking at what’s on the horizon we also had the chance to step back time and discover the characters that once lived in Wentworth village through photographs that have been discovered at the Mechanics. I wonder if anyone remembers any of these charming folk, even if you don’t we are sure they will make you smile. Speaking of the past Clifton Park Museum have put together a fantastic new exhibition which brings back to life the good old memories of growing up in Rotherham in the 40s to 80s.
It’s always a pleasure to meet those who are making a difference for us all with their selfless desire to help others. Have accomplished something that many believe to be impossible, marathon man Ray Matthews is now helping to inspire people of all ages across the borough to improve their health and well being. Ray has even got Rotherham’s new may Eve Rose
Keenan on track and there’s no looking back for her as Ray means business. Along with her five chosen charities Eve is backing Ray and his plans to put Rotherham on the map. It was great to be introduced to her and hear first hand her endearing story to becoming mayor over tea at the Town Hall. We hope you enjoy our summer edition as we strive to bring a little ray of sunshine to you.
