JULY 2017: ISSUE 100

A general view of the course and some of the players.

It sounds like we all had to make a long journey to take part in the Charity fund raising event, but the 63 participants only had to travel as far as the West Sands and the aptly names Himalayas Putting Green. It was a cool but pleasant evening with a fair amount of banter, many groans and a few loud cheers when holes-in- one were achieved. Final scores ranged from 43 to 70. 2 players finished on 43 and, when the inward half was taken into account, Gordon Moir was named winner with Mitch Harris as runner up. Members Will Aitken and John Fernie were close with 44 as was Lindsey Sandford, wife of member David. Maybe next year folks! The winning team, adding the best 3 scores of the 4 members was, not surprisingly, Gordon Moir’s team. A lovely snack supper, donated by members, was enjoyed by all and prizes were presented by Incoming President John Spittal. £530 was raised for the Club’s Charity Fund. Many thanks to Gordon Rhind who ably organised the event and to all who participated. See you next year - same place, date to be arranged.

L to R : Mitch Harris, John Spittal and Gordon Moir..
