JULY 2017: ISSUE 100
The title of this article sounds bit ‘final’ but what it really means is that on Tuesday 6th June, Malcolm Horner made his last official visit to the Club. There were two main reasons for his visit. Firstly, to present a Certificate of Appreciation from the RI President in 2015-16 in recognition of the Club’s effort in raising funds for the End Polio Now Campaign that year. This was handed over to Fiona Wells and Isobel Clifford, the International Convenor and President that year. His second reason to visit was due to the fact that he would not be able to attend the District Handover Lunch in Elgin on Sunday 2nd July when Isobel Clifford would officially take over from him as AG for Area 6. In an informal friendly ceremon y he personal ly wished I s o b e l we l l a n d passed over the AG Regal ia and lapel badge. We hope that Malcom also had a third, and very special, reason to visit the Club - tha t he enj oyed being with us!! P r e s i d e n t Ewe n thanked Malcolm for all his support to the club over the last thr e e ye a r s and wished him well for the future. He also congratulated Isobel on her new position in the District.
