JULY 2017: ISSUE 100
Friday 2nd June was the date organi sed for the annual Pas t Presidents’ Dinner. As usual the current President was invited to join in and so Ewen Allan joined 9 of the Past Presidents who are still members managed to attend. Unfortunately Angus Peters and Wilda McKinnon were unable to be there. The group of 10 convened at the chosen venue of the Russell Hotel and after a pre dinner drink settled themselves snuggly in the Locker Room there. The meal started well with everyone enjoying themselves and a lot of lively chatter ensuing, but as time went on and during the enjoyable main course, it began to get little too close for comfort. So much so that Immediate Past P r e s i d e n t I s o b e l Cl ifford, who had organised the event, began to feel unwell. She tried valiantly to stick it out,

but even with a change seat and some fresh air, she had to call it a day and retire early. The rest of the company went on to enjoy the remainder of their meal without her company. At the close of the evening Ewen said a few words about his year and thanked those present for inviting him to join them. Thanks for organising this Isobel we are glad you recovered quickly once out of the close, hot atmosphere. Here’s to next year when Ewen will be given the honour of organising it!
