chicken from Buckfastleigh. We’ve a selection of craft ales from South Hams Brewery, Devon lager and cider. There is wine and cheese from Sharpham, Salcombe Gin and soft drinks from Luscombe. Truly ‘Devon wrapped in a pie’. We will shortly be developing
an increasing number of gluten free options. e.g. the meat mixture in the pies will be thickened with gluten free flour and the pastry mix will be gluten free. We will also create specialty pies for local and national events e.g. look out for a Regatta Pie, a Mayflower Pie, a six nations pie etc!
How much will a meal cost? We’ve tried carefully to set our prices to create an affordable home-cooked dining experience. Our pies are priced from £12 to £15. Our wine list starts at £17 per bottle, to about £30 and a bit higher for a sharpham sparkling wine. We hope by the Autumn to be offering a take away menu – it will be a complete meal, exactly as you’ll get in the restaurant and, again, made to order. We’re currently testing this with willing volunteers.
Who do you want to attract to the restaurant? We’re not setting up just to target visitors over the holiday period. We want this place to be popular with residents all year round. We’re hoping to be open 7 days a week and through out the day but first we need to find suffi- cient staff to make this happen. We can accommodate large
groups if booked in advance. We’ve a number of special
events planned throughout the year e.g. talks from local breweries about matching beers with pies.
Opening hours? Currently, daily from 12.00 till 3.00pm for lunches and 5.00pm until 10.00pm in the evening. In July we will open from mid-morning with suitable snacks and cakes etc.
