Summer Season - last film 6th July EDUCATING RITA UK, 1983; 110 minutes Cert. 15. Comedy/Drama A number of cinematic nominations and awards went to this acclaimed romantic comedy-drama based on the play by Willy Russell. Julie Walters stars as Rita, a witty, 26-year-old hairdresser who embarks upon an Open University education with an alcoholic literature professor, Dr. Frank Bryant, played by Michael Caine. Bryant’s domestic turmoil is mirrored by Rita’s growing frustrations at home and a gentle romance ensues.

Drama In heart-warming fashion, HIDDEN FIGURES celebrates overlooked con- tributions from a pivotal moment in American history. It tells the incredible story of Katherine G. Johnson (Taraji P. Henson), Dorothy Vaughan (Octavia spencer) and Mary Jackson (Janelle Monáe) - brilliant African-American women working at NASA, who served as the brains behind one of the greatest operations in history: the launch of astronaut John Glenn into orbit in 1962.
