Barker Brettell Birmingham-based intellectual property specialist Barker Brettell has made a number of promotions. David Combes and Neil Kilpatrick have both been promoted to associate
patent attorneys, and Jonathan Myers, who is based in the Southampton office, has been promoted to partner. In addition, two of the firm’s trainees, Katie Howe and Callum Docherty, based at its Birmingham headquarters have been awarded prizes for achieving the highest mark in their respective Patent Examination Board exams. John Lawrence, senior partner and patent attorney, said: “We know that
we have a talented team of patent attorneys, but Katie and Callum’s results are exceptional. Along with Jonathan, David and Neil’s promotions, we are delighted to be celebrating the patent team’s hard work.”
The Vox The Vox conference centre has expanded its events team with the addition of senior technical manager Nick Fagan and event manager Anabelle Parslow. Nick (pictured) will be taking on
a newly created role by leading the technical operation for the Vox, reflecting the technology focus of the premium conference centre. He said: “I am delighted to be
joining the Vox team. I have a passion for technology and am thrilled to bring my experience in both technical development and innovation into this new role. “The Vox has a fantastic, high-

IRRV DWF Debt Recovery director Neil Jinks (pictured) has been appointed president of the Institute of Revenues, Rating and Valuation (IRRV), West Midlands Association. As a senior director in DWF’s
leading credit management and debt recovery team, Mr Jinks co- manages a team of 45 whose services include advising revenue professionals and credit managers, debt litigation and insolvency proceedings. His appointment will see him
driving membership growth, ensuring professionals in the region are able to stay ahead of current trends and upcoming legislation. He said: “This appointment will
enable me to engage with members and I hope to utilise my legal background and marketing skills to support the membership in keeping on top of legislative changes.”
Clarke Willmott Law firm Clarke Willmott has boosted its social housing team with the appointment of 11 new team members. The team has welcomed partner
Hannah Langford (pictured), who was previously a property and contracts lawyer at Clarion Housing. Also joining the team are senior
associates Joanna Jackson, previously a specialist at Devonshires, and Angela Byrne who has 25 years’ experience in social housing litigation, as well as associate Muzammel Mian, an experienced social housing solicitor. Kary Withers, sector head of
social housing at Clarke Willmott, said: “Over the past six months we have been reshaping our social housing team into specialist units and recruiting fresh, talented industry experts.”

TFT Tuffin Ferraby Taylor, the independent property and construction consultancy, has announced five spring promotions in Birmingham. It is the highest number since
TFT opened in the West Midlands in 1982. Chris Gibbons (pictured) has
been promoted to equity partner. He joined TFT in 2011 and has worked on a number of high-profile acquisitions across the Midlands and further afield, most recently, supporting British Land and Oxford Properties on their sale of The Leadenhall Building in London. Rohit Chauhan and Carl Haynes
have both been made senior associate. Dominic Boot and Jon Denham
have both been promoted to associate level.

GVA Real estate adviser GVA has made three significant promotions in its Midlands office. Andrew Moss, from the land and development team, has been appointed
