Common Purpose offers programme place as prize


Birmingham-based leadership development organisation Common Purpose is offering the overall winner of this year’s Future Face of Greater Birmingham award a place on their Midlands ‘Navigator’ programme, worth £3,500. Common Purpose, a not-for-profit organisation that


runs leadership development programmes across the UK. The course is a ‘modular leadership development


programme for emerging leaders in the UK’, and is aimed at helping people develop their problem-solving skills. Louise Teboul, operations director for Common

Committee Focus: Sian Averill


This month’s Committee Focus is by Future Faces vice president Sian Averill,who reveals more about herself – and how she became involved in Future Faces.


What’s your day job? I’m a fundraising manager at Heartlands Hospital Charity in Birmingham. My main role is to manage and identify fundraisers to help raise money.


What do you like most about your job? I really enjoy meeting staff and identifying projects with them and raising the money to deliver those projects. Everything we do has to benefit staff and patients and its really nice being able to make a difference.


If you weren’t doing what you were doing, what other job would you have? I love the idea of being a wedding planner.


What brought you to Birmingham? Birmingham born and bred.


What’s your favourite thing about living/working the city? All of the new bars. So many bars are expanding and choosing

Which of the FF events have been your favourite recently? The AGM at Park Regis.


How do you think Future Faces has helped your professional development / career? Future Faces has definitely helped with my career development as it has helped to build my confidence and attempt new things.


How has FF benefitted the company you work for? FF gives me the opportunity to meet 30-40 new people every month and talk to them about our charity and the work that we do.


What do you enjoy the most about being on the committee? I enjoy being able to help make decisions about the events that we do and the direction that Future Faces is going.
