In Brief Leading national engineering firm headquartered in Birmingham, adi Group, says it is on track to generate major employment opportunities across the Midlands within the next few years. The announcement came


after the group unveiled its ambitious 2020 business plan, Vision 2020, during a company- wide conference at the National Motorcycle Museum. The company has pledged to


double its current staff levels by 2020, creating a number of highly skilled roles, the majority of which will be trade engineering positions.


Birmingham City Council have set wheels in motion for businesses to apply for a series of Top Cycle Location (TCL) grants. The TCL initiative was designed as a way of helping organisations across the city meet the growing interest in cycling and demand for related facilities.Businesses and other organisations from across Birmingham are eligible to apply for the latest TCL grant funding. Solihull Hour takeover By Dan Harrison


The Solihull Chamber of Commerce has taken over the Solihull Hour – a popular Twitter account which allows users in the borough to promote their businesses and events.


Solihull Hour is a networking hour on Twitter, taking


place between 7pm and 8pm every Tuesday. Businesses and individuals can get involved by using


the #SolihullHour hash tag. The initiative was started in 2013 by Jessie Thomas,


co-founder of Solihull-based baby and children’s wear company Jurnie. Due to the growing success of Jurnie, 25-year-old


Jessie has passed on the Solihull Hour reins to the Chamber of Commerce, which now operates the @SolihullHour Twitter account. Joan Smith, director of the Solihull Chamber of


Commerce, said: “We are really excited to be taking over the Solihull Hour. “It strengthens our commitment to helping


businesses and individuals in Solihull connect with each other and I would encourage Chamber members to follow @SolihullHour to get involved in the discussion. “Jessie has done a fantastic job in growing the


Solihull Hour while continuing to run a successful business. The Twitter account now has more than 10,000 followers so we look forward to building on Jessie’s work.” Jessie said: “I am so glad that Solihull Hour will be in


the hands of people who understand the drive behind #solihullhour. I created the business network to help other small businesses like my own to connect for
