Amadeus wins contract with leading events centre

Amadeus has secured a £4.4m contract at The East of England Arena and Event Centre to run all hospitality catering at the venue – including weddings, banqueting and corporate events. The three-year contract will see Amadeus provide catering services at the venue’s newly refurbished conference centre, state of the art arena and exhibition centre. Amadeus has over 40 years’

experience operating as part of the NEC Group, catering for four million visitors annually at the NEC, ICC, Vox Conference Centre, Barclaycard and Genting Arenas. It is rapidly expanding its

external catering business under an ambitious growth strategy led by managing director Kevin Watson. Kevin said: “This contract was a

perfect fit for us. Amadeus are experts in conference and exhibition catering, constantly innovating and changing our offering based on delegate or visitor profile. “We also understand the art of

Arena catering – the importance of speed of sale without compromising on quality. “We bring four decades of

experience to our new partnership with the Centre. In this way, our world-class hospitality will contribute to the status of the venue as a whole, underpinning the benefits offered to event organisers.” Based in Peterborough, The East

of England Arena and Event Centre is the gateway to the strong and growing East of England economy. Amadeus sales director Chris

Reynolds said: “The centre is operated on behalf of the East of England Agricultural Society, a registered charity long-dedicated to delivering local food from local suppliers. “Amadeus shares this passion

and is really excited by the prospect of working closely with the team, supporting the rural economy and an agricultural charity with over 200 years of heritage.”

Businesses strive to recruit applicants who can demonstrate good leadership and possess skills in organisation, communication, problemsolving, teamwork, as well as demonstrating a strong work ethic. Did you know that service leavers and

Reservists have these key personal attributes, and more? Members of the Armed Forces are also

trained in a variety of diverse trades including engineers, electricians, drivers, chefs, HR specialists, communications operatives, and medics, which can help add value to your workforce. West Midland Reserve Forces and Cadets

Association build and maintain relationships with employers in the region by creating strategic partnerships, by promoting the skills that service leavers and Reservists can bring to your business. Employers are encouraged to cement this

partnership via the Armed Forces Covenant: a voluntary pledge which builds a twoway relationship between business and defence.

The Arcadian first signed up

as official sponsor for the ten- day event in 2011. Jo Kinsella, centre manager

at The Arcadian, said: “We are only too pleased to lend our support once again to this excellent event that takes place on our doorstep. It always attracts a great crowd of visitors.”
