led, dumbstruck’
Lally was also honoured with an outstanding achievement award. “I can’t believe it,” she said. “I’m so
honoured and humbled by this award. “I’ve been very lucky to work alongside
some extremely knowledgeable people in this industry. “I believe I have a great knowledge of the
agent community and I've also been on the tour operator side too which helps me see things differently.”
WINNERS’WORDS
“We are absolutely delighted to win both these awards, especially in the face of such stiff competition.” Simone Clark, managing director, Iglu Cruise: winner of Best Large Cruise Agency and Best Online Agency
“This is a victory for all our staff and a huge accolade for our father Ron. The business is his ‘baby’ and is down to him; we are just taking it to the next level.” Nick Marks, joint managing director, Baldwins Travel: winner of Small Agency - London and South East England; and Small High Street Agency of the Year
Agent achievers rejoice at accolades
The best travel agents in the business were awarded for their hard work and dedication.
Among the winners were three worthy agents
who reigned supreme in individual categories. Kelsey Goulding, an apprentice travel consultant
at Thomas Cook in Mansfield, won Young Leisure Agent of the Year. She said: “This makes all the work and effort going through college even more worthwhile. I think it is down to enthusiasm and your attitude to working with the customer.” Angela McCall, of Central England Co-operative
Travel, picked up the gong for Leisure Manager of the Year. On collecting her award, she said: “We have a very good relationship with suppliers and hold

events with key operators and customers three times a year. “We also have a fantastic team and work together, including two trainees who are very committed. We smashed our targets last year. We go above and beyond for our customers – printing out boarding passes and making ‘welcome home’ calls. People don’t get that with the internet.” The Travel Village’s Gill Williams was ecstatic to
receive the award for Leisure Agent of the Year. “It’s quite overwhelming – I’m over the moon,” she
said. “It is a massive honour to be chosen. “We have great relationships with suppliers and I love my customers.”
