EURO-NEWS 5 Landing stage for superyacht
At 157 metres, Dilbar is one of the most imposing superyachts in the world. To berth on the famous Quai des Milliardaires in Port Vauban, Antibes, on the French Riviera, this giant needed a made-to-measure setting. Poralu Marine, an Ain-based SME, has just built a landing stage for the yacht combining its very best technical innovations.
The shock-absorbing fenders,
which cover each of the 11 pontoons, have been designed and constructed with the purpose of ensuring the hull of the boat, which is covered with special beige paint, is never marked and they also match its specific colour. To ensure the stability of the pontoons protecting this
exceptionally large boat, Poralu constructed them with concrete floats. This new range, launched in 2015 and named the Concrete Art Solution, complements Poralu’s floats manufactured in rotomoulded polyethylene. The construction had to be as
prestigious as it was aesthetic. Poralu therefore utilised its range of
SF system for US marina
Given only a few months to design, manufacture and deliver a marina system to the new Provincetown Marina in the American State of Massachusetts, SF Marina System AB delivered the first shipment of concrete docks and breakwaters in late April. A second shipment is scheduled to arrive later this Summer and will include the Type 1260 dock, Type 500 and Type 600 (20 ft wide x 7.8 ft high) floating breakwaters. Once installed,
the additional floating breakwaters will create a new protected marina basin and berthing for superyachts of up to 300 ft. The new marina will offer 60 berths and accommodate megayachts with a full range of amenities in 2016. The solid concrete SF Type 1240, 1250, and Type 500 floating breakwaters were utilised, providing 14-16 ft wide walkways with a 25 inch freeboard. Designed to accommodate larger yachts,
they have superior features such as aluminum cleats, stainless steel bollards, internal routed utilities, energy-absorbing pile guides and EPI-decked finger piers. These enhancements provide a seamless high-end experience, while providing a long-term design solution that will provide many decades of low maintenance for the marina system in a location that often experiences harsh storms during the Winter. The Swedish manufacturer is
represented in the USA by SF Marina Systems USA, which is based in Gloucester, Virginia.

Ecoteck® Premium decking encased in marine grade aluminium frames. This decking has the appearance of exotic wood. However, its
composition, which combines sawdust with plastic, prevents it from being damaged by exposure to ultra- violet light. Finally, two platforms for
gangways and a guard rail complete this private landing stage, closely matching the design of the superyacht.
