The European Union’s longest coastline
M
uch of Sweden is surrounded by water and the country has the longest coastline
in the European Union, which accommodates over 1,100 marinas, both large and small, that offer a wide range of facilities. The boating market is very well-established in Sweden and if overseas visitors cannot bring their own craft, there are many charter companies to call on. The sailing season in Sweden
runs from July-September and darkness falls for just three hours a day in high Summer, so there is almost constant daylight for cruising from the waters of the Gulf of Bothnia in Swedish Lapland to the Stockholm archipelago and the islands of Finnhamn, Grinda, Utö and Sandhamn, all of which have restaurants, bars and a wealth of outdoor leisure and
