Our tester, Georgina Clarkson, says: I was delighted to receive these to test as my old set were completely worn out. They are top of the range well-fitting, well- proportioned travel boots and I have used them every time we have been out.
They stay in place and are long enough to give good knee and hock protection. The bottom end of the boot is shielded with a hard plastic strip offering excellent tread protection. The closure tabs are easy
to use and robust and the lining is soft and warm. The sizing seems generous and the quality is so good that, when new, they were almost too stiff for the horse to walk comfortably in, but that aside they soon performed very well and do not slip down the leg as often happens with cheaper alternatives.
Nettex – Mini Range
The company says: Small bottle, small price but assortment of 14 different sprays and shampoos, essential for any grooming box. On test were: Coat Shine - non-oily formula seals and coats the hair to repel dust, dirt and stable stains, leaving your horse feeling fresh and looking great for longer and with a stunning high shine. RRP: £4.85(200ml); Mane & Tail Detangler -designed to detangle the tail instantly, by sealing and coating the hair to prevent further knots from forming and stops hair breaking or snapping. RRP: £4.85(200ml); Fly Repellant Standard-D.E.E.T based spray contains added moisturisers and conditioners to reduce evaporation and therefore provide longer-lasting protection from flies, one application can last up to 24 hours. RRP: £5.85(250ml); Lavender No-Rinse Wash-sweet-smelling wash will help calm and relax your horse after a hard, working session and removes the need for a full bath. Can also help soothe minor knocks, grazes and bruising. RRP: £4.25(250ml); Nettex Plaiting Spray-advanced formula providing a firm grip to the mane and tail hair, making plaiting a much easier task. RRP: £5.15(200ml); Traditional Tack Conditioner-penetrating formula keeps leather soft, supple and weather resistant all year round. Contains antibacterial properties to prevent cross infection from shared tack. RRP: £4.55(200ml).

Our tester, Anne Chappelhow, says: Easy and convenient sizes, making them ideal for show kits, horse boxes and easy for children to use too. Plaiting Spray- just spray on the mane and go to it! The mane will then have a grip which makes plaiting easier plus the finished plait remains neat and tidy. Coat shine. Another success. Applied exactly as directed and watched it work! A very handy product to have around. Mane and Tail Detangler. Again, used as directed for perfect results, but remember to leave to dry before combing out! Lavender No Rinse Wash great after exercise or competition. I just washed the sweaty areas and it removed sweat well and left the coat looking fresh and natural. Smells nice too! Traditional Tack Conditioner the white cream is easy to apply from the spray applicator. I used it directly on to the saddle and rubbed well with a cloth, whilst on bridles I prefered to blend in using my hand. Buff upreally well and the jobs done. Fly Repellent – I’ll have to wait to test this. It appears that flies don’t like the Cumbrian downpours and gale force winds. Overall I found these products to be really useful, they all do what they say on the bottle, which by the way, I love the neat size of.

Our tester, Rachel Thomas, says: The first thing I noticed when I unpacked the parcel was that this bag was very smart indeed. The extendable strap is great, as after I packed it, I could just throw it over my shoulder leaving my hands free. I’ve found it very handy for keeping everything in that I usually lose or can’t remember where I put, e.g. gloves, hairnets, stock pins etc. now they all now have a permanent home! It is really easy to get in and out of, to store and it also wipes clean easily which is a huge bonus. To be honest, it seems too nice to be used for the lorry, so I think it may also have another job for non- horsey trips away!!

Our tester, Denise Richardson-Rowell, says: This grooming bag is made from hard wearing canvas material, in lovely bright colours and has an attractive logo on the front. The base has studs on the bottom to keep it off the floor. The detachable carry handle makes it easy to carry and I was delighted with just how much equipment I could get into the pockets – coat spray, hoof oil etc. I particularly liked the name ID and the space pens. It was very easy to wipe clean. All in all this is an excellent grooming carry bag, ideal for the ring side or long walks to event dressage arenas, it is amazing on how much you can pack in it !!
