Our tester, Clare Chappelhow, says: Does the job it is designed to do at a reasonable price. I found this riding hat bag offered super protection for storing my hat between shows, and whilst transporting it also. It was easy to carry with either the shoulder strap or hand hold, along with useful interior and exterior pockets to keep hairnets, pins, clips, dressage numbers, etc. in. Then there was also a mirror which I found handy on a number of occasions, for checking if any wisps of hair were escaping or applying lippy. The bag was easy to open and close via its zip fastening, at the top, and also there was enough space to allow me to throw a pair of gloves in too! Great product, think everyone should have one to keep their hat neat and tidy.

Shires – Bungee Breakaway Trailer Tie
The company says: Reduce tension with this web covered bungee tether. The addition of a touch close breakaway safety feature leaves a short lead attached should the horse break away, making him easier to catch. Ideal for the stable, yard or trailer with swivel trigger clip and panic release clip. Total length: 69cm. Black, Blue, Red, Purple, Pink. RRP £9.99

Our tester, Peter Bulman, says: Very well constructed, of heavyweight webbing. The fittings on either end are of the same high calibre. The slide lock that attaches to the horsebox or stable tie ring is secure yet quick and easy to release.
The length of the unit is such that it makes a better ‘securement’ than a ‘short lead rope’ and is much easier and quicker to use. Not yet strained to breakaway stage, I am satisfied that it will breakaway as designed.
JHL – Fleece Rug
The company says: This quality fleece makes a smart travel or show rug, as well as being lightweight, breathable and wicking which makes it suitable for use when travelling or after exercise. Features include double chest fastenings, cross surcingles and filet string. Navy/Burgundy. Sizes: 5’6 to 7’0. RRP: £34.99

Our tester, Sue Chappelhow, says: What a lovely soft and snuggly rug. It was a perfect fit and was used after a competition to keep the horse warm while travelling home. And its wicking properties ensured any sweat residue was taken away from the horse, thus keeping him warm and dry during the journey. The adjustable, cross-over belly straps and the two chest straps helped keep the rug in place. A versatile product which would also be an ideal show or stable rug. Great value for money.
Noble Outfitters – Peddies
The company says: Ultra-thin calf. Ankle shield. Padded protection for boot pinch points. Lightweight/ breathable panel at top of foot. Heel to toe padded protection. Opta-Dry technology wicks away moisture. Blackberry, Wine & Black solid colours and Wine Paisley, Dark Navy Floral and Wine Daisy in print. One Size. RRP: £9.95

Our tester, Barbara Clarkson, says: These are the best socks ever for inside competition or other well-fitting boots. The foot is a slightly heavier grade material than the leg which gives extra comfort where needed plus the sizing is perfect. At last a sock which doesn’t restrict circulation at the same time as fitting. I have an extra slim calf size and find even with that, many long boot socks are too tight. These are just perfect and would also stretch very comfortably for larger legs. I cannot rate them highly enough.

Our tester, Barbara Clarkson, says: As a backpack phobe I wasn’t sure whether I’d find this bag useful! Opening up the packaging revealed what looked like a good quality well-made product and it hasn’t disappointed. The smart black outer fabric with biscuit coloured trim is tough but smart. It could be the ultimate grooms’ accessory as it is easy to carry and items are easy to locate due to the numerous pockets inside and out. It wouldn’t look out of place on holiday in the non-horse world either. However, now I have no excuse for not having the right equipment in the warm-up arena. I’m converted!
