Our tester, Chris Grant, says: The first thing I liked when I opened the packet was how soft the product felt. It is made from 100% wool, so I immediately knew it was going to be comfortable for my pony to wear. The four piece accessory set was easily attached to my leather headcollar and I used it for
travelling. It fastens using strong Velcro and I was pleased that they stayed intact for the duration of a fairly long journey and it certainly made the ponies headcollar fit more comfortably, though personally I’m not sure about the fluffy look. The label states that it is machine washable and it certainly came out as good as new having got scruffy after several uses. I’m not sure what it would look like after a good roll in the mud, I’m keeping these in good nick for worthy occasions.

Our tester, Gillian McMurray, says: This superb bag is manufactured in a very strong, fabric with a PVC base which incorporates small, round feet. These were very useful when the bag was being used in wet or muddy situations. The boot area is roomy enough for long boots and is lined in PVC thus making it easy to wipe down when necessary, there is also two ventilation holes - very handy when my boots were put away warm or wet! There is also a large section to store a riding hat. Both compartments are zipped and the bag has a sturdy carrying handle. This bag would make a useful addition for storing riding wear and is an excellent example of its type.
Pessoa – Discovery Travel Boots
The company says: Practical and attractive travel boots made from tough 600D outer to protect your horse whilst travelling. Navy. Sizes: Cob and Full. RRP: £49.00
Our tester, Rob Williams, says: Love these travel boots. Really only one way to describe them and that is to say real quality. They are waterproof, quick to dry, easy to put on and don’t slide down the horse’s leg while travelling which a lot of boots do.
The hook & loop fastening is very strong indeed, well stitched on and also a good length to meet and hold. Will certainly buy more of these.

Bridleway – Jester Two Tone Headcollar

Our tester, Maria Phillips, says: A robust webbing head collar which came in a two tone contrast black and yellow. It was double stitched for extra strength and fully adjustable over both the headpiece and nose area so suitable to be fitted to a number of horses. The buckles were light but seemed durable and the clip fastener under the throat area allowed the head collar to be lifted over my horses head without having to undo the buckle over the poll. It is generous in
size and although described as full, I would think at its largest would almost fit as extra full. Overall a good quality item for a webbing collar.

Our tester, Caroline Powell, says: This certainly does what it says on the label! I was lucky to be allocated this stunning rug
recently....it has many
faces...smart enough to take to show, useful in the stables and certainly a good travel rug. I received a 6’6” rug and it was very generous on a biggish 16.2hh. Its high neck meant it didn’t sit on the wither and the shaping around the shoulder and hind quarter meant it hung snuggly on the horse. It held its colour and shape well after a good few washings and the choice of embroidery adds the finishing touches to it (also colour didn’t run). The material used allows the horse to cool down whilst taking the chill off the back muscles after the horse has been washed down, in fact you can see the steam coming up through the weave of the material, therefore assisting greatly with the cooling process. The one thing I would add is maybe a belly strap so it can be left on unattended in the stable and lorry as we did have to put a roller on, although it does come with a matching fillet string. This would be a great asset in any yard as the weight of the material fits nicely in between a cotton sheet and a wool rug.
